Aim and Scope
The Journal of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (JNSChE) is dedicated to advancing the field of Chemical Engineering by publishing high-quality, original research, reviews, and scholarly contributions that promote innovation, knowledge dissemination, and practical applications in the discipline. The journal serves as a platform for researchers, academics, industry professionals, and practitioners to share cutting-edge developments and address contemporary challenges in Chemical Engineering.
Aims
The primary aim of JNSChE is to foster the advancement of Chemical Engineering science and technology, with a particular emphasis on:
- Promoting original research that contributes to the development of new processes or innovative adaptations of existing processes in Chemical Engineering.
- Providing a forum for critical reviews and discussions on current and emerging topics in Chemical Engineering.
- Encouraging collaboration between academia, industry, and government to address practical and theoretical challenges in the field.
- Upholding rigorous peer-review standards to ensure the publication of high-quality, impactful research.
- Supporting the dissemination of knowledge to a global audience, with a focus on contributions relevant to Nigeria and the broader African context.
Scope
The journal welcomes submissions that align with the science and technology of Chemical Engineering, covering a broad range of topics including, but not limited to:
- Process design, optimization, and control.
- Innovative chemical processes and technologies.
- Sustainable and environmentally friendly engineering solutions.
- Biochemical engineering and biotechnology.
- Materials science and nanotechnology in Chemical Engineering.
- Energy systems, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.
- Reaction engineering and catalysis.
- Separation processes and technologies.
- Process safety and risk management.
- Chemical engineering education and professional development.
The journal prioritizes research that demonstrates novelty, practical applicability, or significant advancements in these areas, with a particular interest in contributions that address regional challenges in Nigeria and Africa while maintaining global relevance. Submissions are welcomed from both Nigerian and international researchers.
Types of Publications
JNSChE publishes a variety of article types to accommodate diverse contributions to the field:
- Full-length Articles or Review Papers: Comprehensive studies or critical reviews on Chemical Engineering topics, not exceeding 15 pages.
- Communication: Preliminary reports on significant research findings.
- Note: Short papers describing research findings not sufficiently complete for a full article.
- Letter to the Editor: Comments or remarks by readers or authors on previously published materials.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of data and statements, obtaining ethical clearance, and securing permission for any copyrighted material. The journal is published twice annually in March/April and September/October.
