The Training Unit


This is the professional development and Training Programmes arm of Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers. This unit has now been merged with Nichem Ventures Limited (NVL) and operate under the same Board of Directors

Formation

The NSChE established a full fledged training unit to develop professional skills in engineering and technology. The unit currently organizes various open and customized courses in specialized areas for the benefits of engineers and technicians.

A full time Training Programme Coordinator is in charge of the day to day operations, while the entire responsibility of the training activities is vested in the Training Programme Committee of the Society. The department started organizing open training courses in the first quarter of 2000.

Main Activities

To establish a reputable training outfit capable of meeting the challenges of globalization and the rapid technological changes of the twenty first century.

The Training Unit's activities are, therefore, guided by the specific objectives to: a Promote the overall development of chemical engineering practice through training; Update and develop professional skills in engineering and technology among our clients; a Offer assistance to interested companies and organizations in the area of technical manpower development via customized courses.

The training programmes have so far enjoyed wide participation from companies and establishments including the oil and gas, cement, food and beverages, agro-allied; paint, textiles and other chemical process industries.

We conduct customized courses for a number of interested companies.

Being a broad based professional body, we enjoy the full support of our teeming members. This gives us the unique capability to assemble resource experts to handle technical and engineering training in specialized areas. We deliver high quality training programmes backed with experience and expertise.

Future Plans

The immediate plan is to expand our operations in terms of scope and number of courses conducted annually. While we will continue with the open and customized courses, we intend to also introduce professional examination courses. This will assist those scheduled to sit for the Society's professional examinations.

Conclusion

Our annual training plans are published in the last quarter of the preceding year. These are circulated to target companies and our members. Hence, we look forward to corporate bodies and individuals wishing to take full advantage of our high quality training services.
